The Introduction to Radio Presenting" course will tell you everything you need to know about becoming a radio presenter. Aimed at those who are thinking about entering this dynamic and exciting industry, the one-day course will give all the basic information you need, plus plenty of hands-on experience to help you decide if it’s really for you.
You’ll learn about the different types of radio station and what it’s like working inside one, what it takes to be a great presenter, and many of the skills required to get to the top.
Plus you’ll have a chance to try it all out for yourself, with plenty of help and guidance backed up by over 40years experience working in the BBC and top commercial stations.
At the end, you'll present your own programme ! We try to make this as real as possible, with music, jingles and ad breaks, so that you really get a feel of what it's like to be a radio presenter.

The course is run by Andrew Hughes and Graham Caplin, two Sony Award-winning industry professionals who between them have worked with some of the biggest names in the UK radio industry.
Andrew has been a newsreader on LBC, Talksport and Capital Gold, spent eightyears as a live sport producer for TalkSport, was Head of Music for Great North Radio in Newcastle, Head of Production for both Capital Gold and the independent production company EMR,
and he’s won one Sony Award, four New
York Golds and one New York Grand Award.
Graham worked at Capital Radio as an engineer for Chris Tarrant for 2 years, travelling the world with the award-winning Breakfast Show. He’s worked with many of
the biggest names in the industry including David Jensen, Chris Moyles,
Steve Penk, Pat Sharp and Neil Fox, and household names like Jerry Springer
and Jon Culshaw.
He’s produced just about every style of programme, and as Head of Music for Capital Gold he spent six years managing presenters and running the station.
