The "Advanced Radio Presenting" course will give you firm grounding in the essential skills required to be a successful radio presenter.
This intensive course is designed both for those people who are just getting started in the industry, and for those who have some experience and want to refine their skills and understanding.
Held over two days, you'll spend an equal amount of time discussing the various aspects of radio presenting and practising these aspects in our radio studio in West London.
Subjects covered include planning a show, playing music, links and scripts, interviews and working with guests. You'll learn the 10 Golden Rules for radio presenters.
Plus you'll receive vocal coaching, learn studio technical skills, and get an overview of the legal essentials you need to know.
At the end you'll get the opportunity to present your own one hour music and phone-in programme and read a news bulletin. We try to make this as real as possible, with music, jingles and ad breaks, so that you really get a feel of what it's like to be a radio presenter.
Andrew has worked at a host of stations including BBC and commercial, and if there’s a job in radio he’s probably done it at one time or another. He’s been a newsreader on LBC, Talksport and Metro FM and Capital Gold, spent eight years as a live sport producer for TalkSport, was Head of Music for Great North Radio in Newcastle, Head of Production for both Capital Gold and the independent production company EMR, and he’s won one Sony Award, four New York Golds and one New York Grand Award.
Graham worked at Capital Radio as an engineer for Chris Tarrant for 2 years, travelling the world with the award-winning Breakfast Show. He’s worked with many of the biggest names in the industry including David Jensen, Chris Moyles, Steve Penk, Pat Sharp and Neil Fox, and household names like Jerry Springer and Jon Culshaw. He’s produced just about every style of programme, and as Head of Music for Capital Gold he spent six years managing presenters and running the station.
