Frequently Asked Questions
Click on a question below for more information
How long do the batteries last? Are they included?
Battery life is typically around 8 hours and we’ll supply the first set of batteries.
What frequencies do your IEM systems run on?
Our systems run on the 823-832 MHz band. We close this deliberately as the majority of our radio mics operate on Channel 38 (606.5-613.5MHz)
Can I use IEM systems alongside radio mics?
Yes you can. Our IEM systems run on the 823-832 MHz band. Indeed we close this deliberately as the majority of our radio mics operate on Channel 38 (606.5-613.5MHz). This means the two can run side by side.
What’s the range of IEM systems?
In open air and with a direct line of site, the range is up to 100m. With people and buildings in the way, the range reduces.
If you’re worried about range problems on your IEM hire, you should consider adding a paddle antenna to the transmitter and pointing it towards the artists. This will boost the distance over which you can use the systems.
Do I need a paddle antenna?
You only need one if you will be placing the transmitter a long way from the stage (over 20 metres). Otherwise, the standard antenna should be fine and we supply this as standard with each IEM hire.
How do I set up frequencies on an IEM system?
We’ll set them up in advance for you and make sure they are covered by our licence. Generally, we recommend not touching the frequencies without speaking to us first.
Will you also come and set up the equipment up for us?
In certain circumstances, we can also provide a technician. Contact us for details. However we are a “dry hire” company, meaning we usually supply the equipment by courier and leave you to set it up. We send you a simple guide for how to do this and supply 24 hour telephone support.
How do pay for my booking?
We take payment by BACS or with a card online. We accept all cards except American Express. Additionally for certain customers, we offer 30 day payment terms (with a purchase order).
When do I need to book?
It’s always best to book as soon as possible. However we don’t hold equipment based on quotations and get very busy, especially near the end of school terms.
